Hide My WP (Hide My WordPress)は、WordPressのログインURLとwp-admin、テーマ・プラグインのパスを変更または非表示にする主要機能と追加機能を持ち、WordPressセキュリティプラグインの一つと見なせます。WordPressはログインアドレスであるwp-adminがそのまま見えているため、セキュリティを強化するセキュリティプラグインを使って隠すことができます。
その中でもHide My WPは、ログインURLとwp-adminを隠すほか、テーマ・プラグインのパス変更、侵入検知とIPブロック、XML-RPCのオフなど約40の機能を備えた有料プラグインの一つです。
1️⃣ Hide My WPの設定画面
Hide My WPプラグインの[Settings]画面は、Start、Hiding、Permalinks、Protection、Cleanup、Replaceの6つのタブに分かれています。ログインURLと非表示は[Hiding]と[Permalinks]タブ、XML-RPCは[Cleanup]タブにあります。
Hide My WP設定シミュレーター
[See More]を押すと、その記録の一覧に移動します。
行ごとに[Exclude]、[Ban IP]、[Delete]、[Filter]を押せます。
[Whitelist this IP]、[Delete]、[Filter by Source]で一覧を変更できます。
[Feedback]は開発元の外部ロードマップのアドレスに移動し、そのアドレスは[Page not found]を表示します。
[Manual Configuration]は、.htaccessに手動で入れるルールを新しいタブで開きます。
すべての欄を変更でき、黄色の4つの欄を変えて[Save Settings]を押すと、下のログアウト中の訪問者の画面が変わります。

- You may need to reconfigure the server whenever you change settings or activate a new theme or plugin.
- Add these lines right before: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f. Next, you may want to change htaccess permission to read-only (e.g., 666)

[Start]タブのPurchase Code欄を空にしたままでも、この記事で扱ったログインURLの変更、非表示、XML-RPCのオフの設定は保存され、動作しました。Hide My WPはCodeCanyonで販売されている有料プラグインです。
2️⃣ ログインURLの変更
[Hiding]タブのHide Login Pageをオンにすると、標準の[wp-login.php]は404を返し、チェックした瞬間にLogin QueryとAdmin Login Keyの欄が開きます。
[Permalinks]タブのChange Login URLにnewloginのような新しいアドレスを入れて保存すると、そのアドレスでログイン画面が開きます。新しいアドレスを空にすると、[wp-login.php?hide_my_wp=1234]のようにLogin QueryとAdmin Login Keyを付けた予備アドレスでしかログインできず、この予備アドレスはどの設定でも開くため、キーの値は初期値の1234から変えておきます。
3️⃣ Hide Login Page & Hide Adminの設定
Hide Login Pageはログイン画面を、Hide Adminは管理画面のアドレスである/wp-admin/を隠す設定です。
ログイン画面だけを隠すと、ログインしていない訪問者が/wp-admin/を開いたときにWordPressが変更後のログインURLへ移動させ、新しいアドレスがそのまま見えてしまいます。玄関の暗証番号を変えても、管理人室に聞けば新しい番号を教えてくれるのと同じです。

ログイン画面へ移動新しいログインURLへ移動存在しないページ両方の設定をオフにすると標準のWordPressと同じです。/wp-admin/を開くとログイン画面に移動し(302)、/wp-login.phpでもログイン画面が開きます。
Hide Adminだけをオンにすると/wp-admin/は存在しないページ(404)になりますが、標準のログインURLの/wp-login.phpはそのまま開きます。
ログイン画面だけを隠すと/wp-login.phpは存在しないページ(404)になりますが、/wp-admin/を開いた訪問者は変更後のログインURLに移動し(302)、新しいアドレスを知ることになります。
両方をオンにすると/wp-admin/と/wp-login.phpはどちらも存在しないページ(404)になり、変更後のアドレスを知っている管理者だけがログイン画面を開けます。
Hide Adminまでオンにすると、/wp-admin/はログインしていない訪問者には存在しないページ(404)に見え、新しいログインURLを知ることができなくなります。
4️⃣ XML-RPCをオフにする
ログインURLを隠しても、[xmlrpc.php]はユーザー名とパスワードを受け付ける別の入口として残ります。
[Cleanup]タブのDisable XML RPCをオンにすると、ログインが必要なリクエストは405と[このサイト上では XML-RPC サービスが無効になっています。]で拒否されますが、[xmlrpc.php]ファイル自体は応答し続けます。リクエストをPHPまで届かせないためには、サーバー設定でブロックします。
Disable XML RPCのチェックを外して保存しても設定がオンのまま残る場合があるため、保存後は実際の応答でもう一度確認します。
5️⃣ Hide My WPを無効化した後に残る.htaccessルール
Hide My WPは[Save Settings]を押したときに、.htaccessのWordPressブロック内に新しいログインURLのルールを追加します。

RewriteRule ^newlogin /wp-login.php?zV_hide_my_wp=1234 [QSA,L]プラグインを無効化してもこの行は.htaccessに残り、変更したアドレスで引き続きログイン画面が開きました。プラグインを整理するときは、.htaccessからこの行を削除して保存します。
